TrueTag collects no data. Everything you do in the app stays on your device. The app has no internet access — it does not request the Internet permission, so it is technically incapable of sending anything off your phone. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs.
None of this is transmitted anywhere, and we have no server that could receive it.
When you hold an NFC tag to your phone, the app reads that tag's contents and hardware details (such as its ID and chip type) in order to show them to you. Reading happens only while the app is open on screen — TrueTag deliberately does not register to launch itself when a tag is tapped. Tag contents are shown to you and are kept only if you save them (or have auto-save turned on).
The app's database and settings are excluded from Google cloud backup — nothing of yours goes to Google's servers. Direct device-to-device transfer when setting up a new phone (a local copy between two devices you own) is allowed so your library survives a phone upgrade.
Delete individual items or clear your scan/write history in the app's Library, or uninstall the app — uninstalling removes everything, since nothing exists outside your device.
TrueTag is a general-audience utility. It collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
If a future version of the app changes any of the above (for example, if optional online features are ever added), this policy will be updated and the effective date revised before that version ships. Material changes will be called out in the app's update notes.
